Who we are

Eccho is run by Vereon Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Vereon Ltd decides how the information described here is used, so it is the controller under UK data protection law (UK GDPR).

What we hold about our users

Your name, email address, password (stored only as a scrambled hash), the business you set up, your team, the searches you run, and the leads you receive. We use these to run your account and to keep Eccho safe from abuse.

What we hold about the businesses in our leads

Business names, addresses, websites, and their published phone numbers, email addresses and WhatsApp links. We collect these from public map data, public company registers, web search, and the businesses' own websites.

For some businesses we also hold the name, job title and work email of a decision-maker, such as an owner or director. We find these from public registers, the business's own website, and email-finding services.

Why we're allowed to use it

We rely on legitimate interests: helping businesses find other businesses that may want their services. We keep this to work contact details, check them, and remove anyone who asks.

Our users must follow the law when they contact a lead, including the UK's PECR rules on marketing emails, and must honour any request to stop.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is open. A decision-maker's details are kept for 12 months unless checked again. Business details are refreshed or removed when they're found to be out of date.

Where it's kept and who helps us

Your account and our leads are stored with Amazon Web Services and MongoDB Atlas in London. Public business listings from map data are processed in the United States. Email checking and email-finding services process the email addresses we check. Each works for us under a contract.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to us using it. If you appear in our leads and don't want to, ask us to remove you and we will stop giving your details to anyone. Write to the address below. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
